When combined with a compatible Garmin Varia device¹, the Varia app offers a comprehensive set of tools that enable cyclists to ride with confidence. The Varia app provides the following features:

Receive real-time alerts on your phone when vehicles come within 140 meters behind your bicycle.
Color-coded alerts based on surrounding traffic: Green indicates no vehicles nearby, yellow indicates an approaching vehicle, and red indicates a vehicle approaching quickly, urging caution.
Tone and vibration alerts for approaching vehicles even if you're not looking at your phone.

In conjunction with a compatible Garmin Varia Rearview Radar Camera, users can enjoy additional benefits:

Easily adjust the camera's position to capture the best videos and photos.
Record videos and take photos while riding with a simple button press on your phone.
Automatic video recording of incidents and convenient storage of footage using the Incident Recording feature.

Additionally, with the Varia eRTL615 Rearview Radar Tail Light, users can configure and customize light mode configurations for their tail light.

User-friendliness is a highlight of the Varia app. Pairing your Garmin Varia device with the app is a seamless process that can be completed quickly. Once set up, the Varia app will automatically detect your device.

Even if you already have a Varia device connected to a compatible Garmin device or head unit, the Varia app provides supplementary awareness and peace of mind during your rides.

The compatible Garmin Varia devices include the Varia RVR315 Rearview Radar, Varia RTL515 Radar Tail Light, Varia RCT715 Rearview Radar Camera, and Varia eRTL615 Rearview Radar Tail Light.
